One of the greatest challenges to the pure celebration of Christmas is our busy schedules. This year, we invite you to slow down. Center you heart and mind on the birth of our Savior and the everlasting love of God.

Written by our friends at Redeemer Baptist, this online resource includes a short devotional thought for each day of Advent. These daily words of encouragement make a great tool for a busy family or for a person to read on their lunch break.

The Bible Project: Advent – whole family
This is a fantastic online resource for the whole family. Produced in 3-4-minute videos, each week of Advent introduces a new word for study. The videos do a great job of tying together the Old and New Testaments. Children will especially love this experience because the animation of the videos is well done and holds attention, without being too long.

This is a well-done devotional series best used for personal devotion. As an electronic production, it is great for a person or family on-the-go. It’s also perfect to cozy up by a fire with hot chocolate late at night. It features devotions by Christianity Today contributors and editors such as Mark Galli, Timothy Keller, Sandra McCracken, and others.

Good News of Great Joy by John Piper – adults
What makes this resource great is the variety of options. You can download the PDF or hear John Piper read the devotions aloud. Good News of Great Joy: Daily Readings for Advent contains 25 short devotional readings beginning December 1 and going through Christmas Day. This book of Advent meditations aims to put Jesus at the center of your holiday season.
